Flanders is a picturesque Belgian region located north of Brussels, this area of Belgium so romantic and full of history. Numerous canals pass through the center of the small urban centers of Flanders which maintain their medieval appearance in excellent condition, while the delicious scent of chocolate and fries spreads in the air, the two specialties of the area. Long and relaxing walks allow you to better visit the main towns of the area, while a capillary boat service guarantees, in times of need, a little rest associated with an alternative vision of the main buildings and historic centers.

To book Tee Time, it is best to send an email to the secretary of the Golf Club you have chosen, asking for availability, obviously indicating the day and an indicative time. You can find the e-mail address by opening the Golf Club website from “Open website” and then searching for “contacts” or some Golf Clubs have the form to fill out to get the Tee Time. I think it’s better to send an email to the Secretariat. Opens Google Map at the point of the Golf Club. You can have the necessary information to reach the playing field or to know the distances for example from the Hotel you have chosen for the stay.

There are not only beer, chips, waffles and chocolate among the flavors of Flanders. Discover with us an itinerary between food, chef and drinks!

Names like Godiva, Leonidas and Neuhaus may sound familiar to you. But besides them, there are more than 320 chocolatier masters who offer tradition and innovation across the country. We talk about innovation because there are refined examples of creativity, such as the schock-o-latier Dominique Persoone and the artist Marijn Coertjens, who have been able to amaze everyone, critics and the public. These characters today represent the vanguard of a new generation of cocoa craftsmen.

Flanders is home to the richest beer culture in the world. Homeland of hundreds and hundreds of different beers, of countless types: Belgian ales, cherry beers, white beers, the “ancient” red and dark ones, lambic, geuze, abbey ones and, of course, the famous Trappist ones. It’s not just us that we do, true, but if UNESCO has included them on the list of Intangible Heritage of Humanity, there will be a reason! The history of beer production makes the region a true paradise for fans. The new generation of effervescent craft breweries, such as De Dochter van de Korenaar, De Ranke and Brasserie de la Senne is a guarantee that it will remain so for a long, long time to come.

In this small region there are 97 restaurants with Michelin stars. No other region in the world can offer such an abundance of restaurants of this level, according to the Michelin and Gault & Millau guides. The three-star Hof van Cleve and Hertog Jan represent the top of the range, but there are gourmet restaurants for all tastes (and for all budgets). And for a refined dinner in jeans and t-shirts marked the alternatives Publiek, L’épicerie du Cirque and La Paix.

Flanders are full of flavors. You can find exclusive and exquisite products such as gray shrimp, endive and asparagus. And above all, unique and classic dishes of the Flemish culinary tradition such as mussels and chips, the free-range Hutspot and the irresistible Vol-au-vent. Are you a lover of quick ‘n dirty? Are you looking for an unrivaled street food product? Look for a “frietkot”, the kiosk of French fries (or similar walking products). You will experience tastes never experienced before.

Flanders is full of fantastic cities of art, each with its own culinary and gastronomic style. During the day you can dedicate yourself to admire the masterpieces of Flemish masters, such as Bruegel, Rubens, Van Eyck. In the rest of the time you can discover the local specialties. In Brussels you won’t miss the waffles, but also taste the stoemp, a mashed potato and vegetables. In Gent you will find the traditional chicken dish, Gent’s waterzooi and – if you are fond of sugar – the bizarre cuberdon. In Mechelen you will have to try the local free range chicken, the Mechelse koekoek, accompanied by a glass of Gouden Carolus beer. To each city, its own taste.
