One of the most spectacular regions of Canada is that of British Columbia, an area located in the western part of the North American country, characterized by wild nature and the overwhelming beauty of its landscapes. Beautiful location to organize your next Golf Experience. Gateway to British Columbia is the city of Vancouver, however there are also other locations such as Victoria and Nelson, although the area is dominated by natural parks, mountains, lakes and rivers, ideal for activities such as rafting, hiking and climbing. Wide choice of spectacular golf courses of all levels of difficulty.

You can find the e-mail address by opening the Golf Club website and then searching for “contacts” or some Golf Clubs have the form to fill out to get the Tee Time. I think it’s better to send an email to the Secretariat. Opens Google Map at the point of the Golf Club. WHEN TO GO TO CANADA – BRITISH COLUMBIA

The Canadian province of British Columbia is located on the Pacific Ocean coast. To the northwest is Alaska, to the north the Yukon, to the east Alberta and to the south the American states Idaho, Montana and Washington border British Columbia.

The provincial capital is Victoria. British Columbia has an area of 944,735 square kilometers and 4.4 million inhabitants. There are 4.8 inhabitants per square kilometer. The largest city in the English-speaking province is Vancouver. Vancouver is the economic center of the region.

In the eastern part of the province there are four mountain ranges of the Rocky Mountains. Mount Fairweather is with 4663 meters the highest mountain in British Columbia and is located in the northwest. The Fraser River, at 1375 kilometers, is the longest river in British Columbia. It flows into the Pacific. The famous island of Vancouver Island is located off the coast.

In the north of the province there is an arctic climate. The average annual temperature in Fort Nelson is -1.0 degrees Celsius. Average temperatures below -20 degrees Celsius can occur in December and January. At 145 centimeters, the largest amount of snow per day measured so far fell in northern British Columbia in 1999. During the months of June, July and August, temperatures rise to 23 degrees Celsius during the day.

In the south and also on the island of Vancouver, due to the Kuroshio current in the Pacific Ocean, there is a warm and temperate climate. In this region of British Columbia (Canada), daytime temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius are reached around summer. The amount of rainfall in the summer months is also pleasantly low. In winter, temperatures around the freezing point prevail in the south, especially at night, and there are regular snowfalls.

In the plains north-east of the province, the Arctic climate is less evident in the summer months of June, July and August. Temperatures go up to 23 degrees Celsius during the day and drop to around 9 degrees at night. The best time to visit Fort Nelson is in June, July and August.

The capital Victoria is located at the southern end of British Columbia and, like the popular tourist destination Vancouver, has a warm and temperate climate.

Temperatures are positive all year round. In the months of May to September temperatures can rise up to 20 degrees. This is also the best time to travel. Victoria is located in close proximity to the Washington border. Seattle is approximately 160 kilometers away and can easily be integrated into a round trip.

WHAT TO EAT IN CANADA – BRITISH COLUMBIA

I think nobody can deny that one of the best things about the trip is to taste all the different, new dishes. Sushi in Japan, feijoada in Brazil, the smelly but delicious durian in Thailand. There is always at least one local dish that must be tried. If it is your first time in Canada or in British Columbia – Vancouver and you don’t know what the typical dishes are, here are some that you should definitely try.

Definable as “Comfort food”, Poutine is a dish spread throughout Canada and is composed of French fries garnished abundantly with “curd cheese” (practically curd) and “Gravy Sauce”, a typical American brown sauce, obtained from meat thickened with flour and corn starch. It cannot be said that it is a light dish, but it is perfect if you ask yourself what to eat in Vancouver after maybe a nice long walk in one of the amazing parks of the city. At 1885 on Commercial Drive you will find “Belgian Fries” which prepares it in different variations.

For gourmands like me (the “sweet tooth” as they call us over there) what to eat in Vancouver actually means what is the sweetest … “sweet” to eat in Vancouver! The answer is definitely the Nanaimo bar, a dessert made up of 3 layers: wafer crumble on the bottom, cold butter cream in the center and, of course, a nice thick chocolate glaze on top. Obviously there are many variations: with butter, gluten free, and even mint. You can find it all over Vancouver, but the way you can taste it until you pass out for hyperglycemia and do the so-called Nanaimo Bar Trail, a path of bars that serve it in the city that gave it its name, which can be visited in a day starting in the morning and returning to Vancouver in the evening.

In any city in Canada you will find the famous smoked salmon from British Columbia, a souvenir to take home in decorated cedar boxes.
Vancouver is therefore home to an excellent smoked salmon but you cannot miss the “Candy Salmon Nuggets”, salted and spiced brown sugar caramelized salmon pieces. Of course a very particular bittersweet combination, but every now and then it is worth tasting something completely new.

It is not often the case that a food is even reported in a national symbol. In fact, if you think about it, the flag of Canada has a maple leaf in its center: and it is from this tree that the “maple syrup” is obtained, maple syrup, of which Canada is obviously the most major world producer. There are many foods in Vancouver, like the rest of the nation, made or seasoned with maple syrup. On Granville Island, for example, you can find Edible Canada, where you can taste or buy everything that is made with maple syrup (chocolate, candies, maple flakes, sugar and so on) and of course all the varieties of “maple syrup “.

“Bannock”, a dish from the indigenous peoples of Canada, also called Canadian Aborigines.
It is a simple food similar to bread or more precisely to the American “Biscuit”, which unlike the translation with the word biscuit which is often mistakenly used, are not sweet (unfortunately for me, this time!) But very tasty slightly crunchy sandwiches outside and soft inside.
Although it is so good that it can be eaten on its own, just make two and two to understand that the most traditional way to enjoy this “sandwich” today is with salmon. In fact, you can ask for the famous “Salmon n ‘Bannock”.
You can easily find it in the so-called “Aboriginal restaurants” distributed throughout the city or, to follow the latest trends, taste it as street food (street food) by purchasing it directly in Food Trucks (direct food trucks) such as “Mr. Bannok “, specialized in Indigenous Cuisine, which prepares it in its many variations.
